It is noted that in early August in Moscow, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia held negotiations with representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.

Within the framework of the working meetings, the issue of interaction within the framework of the execution of the order of the Russian government regulating the procedure for crossing the border between Russia and Abkhazia by foreigners was discussed.

"In accordance with this decree, restrictions on the crossing of foreign citizens of the Abkhaz-Russian state border are partially lifted," the Abkhazian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

It is clarified that foreigners staying on the territory of the republic must apply to the Abkhaz Ministry of Foreign Affairs with identity documents to obtain a permit to travel to Russia.

In June, the Abkhaz authorities turned to Russia for help in the fight against coronavirus infection.

Last week, on August 7, 5,000 doses of Sputnik Light COVID-19 vaccines were delivered to the republic.
