Death toll rises to 17 amid severe flooding in northern Turkey.

According to the Associated Press, Turkey's Disaster and Risk Management Agency (AFAD) announced the damage caused by heavy rains and floods that began on the 11th.

The provinces of Bartin, Castamonu, Sinov and Samsun in northern Turkey facing the Black Sea have been hit hard by massive floods and landslides.

Houses were flooded and power was cut off in 170 villages, and buildings and bridges collapsed causing traffic to be paralyzed.

AFAD said the bodies of the victims of the disaster are being found as the floodwaters begin to drain.

In Turkey, a forest fire that broke out in the southern province of Antalya on the 28th of last month has already spread and burned large-scale forests.
