Police revealed the identity of the young man suspected of killing five people, including a girl, before shooting himself yesterday, Thursday, in the city of Plymouth (southwest) England, in the worst shooting in the United Kingdom in more than 10 years.

Devon and Cornwall Police said in a statement on Friday that the shooter, Jake Davison, 22, was a crane operator, adding that the attacker killed himself after killing the five victims yesterday evening.

Devon and Cornwall Sheriff Shaun Sawyer said police found no motive for the crime, but they did not suspect terrorism or any far-right organisations, although they had searched Davison's computer.

"We believe it was a domestic (violence) related incident that took to the street in which several people were killed in Plymouth in an unusually tragic circumstance," he told reporters.

The shooting began at around 6 pm on Thursday, and the accused first killed a 51-year-old woman he knew inside a house, then rushed outside and immediately shot the girl and her 43-year-old relative.

Two passersby were seriously injured in the shooting, then the accused entered a park, where he killed another man and woman.

Then the shooter pointed his gun at himself before the police could deal with him.

The incident lasted a few minutes.

For her part, the Minister of the Interior wrote a tweet - on Twitter - in which she expressed her condolences to those affected, and said, "The Plymouth incident is shocking. I express my condolences to those affected," and added, "I spoke to the Chief of Police and provided my full support."

The incident in Plymouth is shocking and my thoughts are with those affected.

I have spoken to the Chief Constable and offered my full support.

I urge everyone to remain calm, follow police advice and allow our emergency services to get on with their jobs.

Mass shootings are rare in Britain, where gun ownership rates are low, and Thursday's incident was the worst in more than 10 years.

The country adopted one of the most stringent gun laws in the world, following a shooting incident in Dunblane in Scotland in 1996 that killed 16 schoolchildren in a matter of minutes.

The police official explained that the suspect in the shooting in Plymouth had a gun license, and his accounts were viewed on social media, especially after British media suggested that he was suffering from psychological problems.

In a YouTube account called "Professor Waffle", which was deleted in the morning, the young man can be seen complaining about the difficulties he faces in getting to know women and losing weight, describing himself as "fat".

Also, he says in his last video, "I have no intention of doing anything anymore," expressing his regret that he is "always in the same house and in the same situation."

From this account, it was found that firearms appealed to him.
