On the morning of August 12, Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province held a press conference on epidemic prevention and control. Wang Jinsong, deputy director of the Yangzhou Municipal Health Commission, introduced:

Starting at 6:30 on August 11, Yangzhou City launched the sixth round of large-scale nucleic acid testing in the main urban area. A total of 690 sampling points were set up and 5,726 sampling personnel were selected, of which 3,000 were provided outside the city.

As of 8 a.m. on August 12, a total of 1,591,100 people had been sampled and tested, and 2 positive cases have been detected so far.

Deputy Director Wang Jinsong specifically stated that in the notifications of the previous few days, sometimes the number of confirmed cases announced was inconsistent with the number of positives detected by large-scale nucleic acid testing sampling. This is because the subject of large-scale nucleic acid testing does not include intensive medical observation. Personnel and other key groups, so the two data are not consistent.
