Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said that although he did not support the nuclear agreement with Iran, he did not know an alternative plan, while Israeli media said that the Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency "CIA" (CIA) William Burns told Israeli officials that the chances of Iran returning to the agreement Nuclear is more difficult.

Lapid revealed - according to what was reported by Israeli media - that Israel had conducted a behind-the-scenes dialogue with the Americans and Europeans regarding the nuclear agreement, without revealing more about the nature of this dialogue.

He expressed Israel's concern about what he called the Iranian-inspired model of terrorism that is being expanded in the region.

Lapid criticized the government formation of the new Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, including those who said he was responsible for the Buenos Aires attack, considering this as evidence that it is a terrorist government that deals with blood and death as a way of life, as he put it.

Burns Talks

Today, Thursday, Israeli media quoted Israeli officials as saying that CIA Director William Burns - who is visiting Israel at the head of an American delegation - told the Israeli government that the chances of Iran returning to the nuclear agreement have become more difficult.

The sources added that the US side stressed, during its visit to Israel, the importance of the agreement to contain the Iranian nuclear program.

The US delegation also stressed that Washington would not go to war over the Iranian nuclear program.

Burns arrived in Israel last Tuesday for his first visit since taking office.

Burns met with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and the heads of the Mossad and the Israeli National Security Council, and Defense Minister Benny Gantz said, in a tweet on Twitter, that he met Burns, and gave him information about what he called Iran's aggressive moves in the region.

The visit comes at a time when Israeli estimates are oscillating about the possibility of resuming the Vienna negotiations to discuss the Iranian nuclear agreement after the inauguration of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi.

Burns is a defender of the nuclear deal, which Israel strongly criticizes, and played a pivotal role in the secret US-Iranian negotiations that led to the 2015 nuclear deal.

Burns is expected to meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah later Thursday.

The visit of the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency comes after another visit by the head of the British Intelligence Agency "MI6" (MI 6) Richard Moore to Ramallah at the head of a delegation that included British diplomats, where he held talks with the Palestinian President.
