She stated that the rate of vehicle fire accidents in recent years increased during the summer period, while resulting in human and material losses, calling on vehicle owners to take safety and security measures to avoid such accidents.

The Civil Defense Command explained that the causes of vehicle fires are due to the failure to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance of the vehicle, leaving flammable materials in the vehicle such as lighters, perfumes and sterilization packages, and high engine temperature, as this is a major factor that leads to the occurrence of fire, as well as traffic accidents that may cause Vehicle fires.

It called on drivers to take safety measures, daily monitoring of cooling rates and engine oil, periodic maintenance by a specialized technician, refraining from smoking and stopping the engine when refueling the vehicle, closing the fuel tank cap tightly to prevent leakage and avoiding the risk of ignition, and keeping an appropriate fire extinguisher and training in its use. It is worth noting that the scooter has caused many problems and explosion accidents in different countries, due to the high temperature of the battery, while experts and specialists have warned of its danger if left inside the vehicle during the summer, as high temperatures cause the battery to heat up and then explode.

Some types of scooters also threaten public safety. If the battery runs out, for example, the scooter stops suddenly, which causes the user to fall suddenly and poses a great danger to his health, especially if it is used on public roads.
