“The Alarm Center was informed that the apartment in a five-storey building on Jaama Street in Tartu smelled of gas, the door was locked and no one opened it.

Rescue Department personnel arrived to check the situation, but an explosion occurred in a matter of minutes, ”the statement said.

It is clarified that as a result of the explosion, six people were hospitalized: two rescuers, two police officers, an ambulance driver and a drunk man who was in the apartment.

On the spot, first aid was provided to three residents of the houses.

It is noted that the explosion was of such force that glass shattered in the nearby houses.

Earlier it was reported that as a result of gas cotton in an apartment building in Barnaul, two people were injured, including a child.
