The
National Geographic Institute
(IGN) has registered an earthquake of 4.2 magnitude and epicenter in
Chimeneas
(Granada), a tremor that has been felt in different parts of the province and was followed by a second earthquake of 3.1 in Santa Fe, another municipality in the Vega de Granada.
According to IGN sources, the strongest earthquake was registered at 11:25 p.m. this Thursday in
Chimeneas
and, although it was initially measured at 4.6 degrees, it had
a magnitude of 4.2 and a depth of 5 kilometers.

This tremor, of which no material or personal damage is known, has been felt in different municipalities of the capital and its metropolitan area, but also in other parts of the province such as
Motril
, on the Coast, or
Guadix
, in the North zone. or in other neighboring areas such as
Malaga
, according to sources consulted by Efe.
Two minutes after that first earthquake, the IGN has registered
a second earthquake of 3.1 degrees of magnitude
, 10 kilometers deep and with an epicenter in Santa Fe, also in Vega de Granada.
