A lion causes panic in a residential neighborhood in Riyadh

Today, Thursday, the Saudi authorities announced that they had received a report from the National Center for Security Operations about the presence of a predator (a lion), tied to a pole in a residential neighborhood in Riyadh.

According to the statement of the Special Forces for Environmental Security in Saudi Arabia, the communication was dealt with to neutralize its danger from the residents of the neighborhood with the participation of security patrols, and coordination with the National Center for Wildlife Development to transfer it to the shelter center.

The official spokesman for the Special Forces for Environmental Security, Major Raed Al-Maliki, said in a statement: The move regarding Al-Assad took place after a report was received by the National Center for Security Operations, stating that there was a predator tied to a pole in a residential neighborhood.

Major Al-Maliki indicated that the authorities are working to find out who did this act, to take legal measures against him.

Al-Maliki explained that trafficking in endangered wildlife, including their possession, is one of the prohibitions stipulated by the environmental system, which carries a penalty of up to ten years in prison and a fine of up to 30 million riyals ($8 million), or one of these two penalties.

Al-Maliki called on everyone in different parts of the Kingdom to report any cases of import, export, transfer, sale, display, acquisition or reproduction of any fungal organisms.

The electronic accounts circulated the video clip, which was documented by one of the people, where the lion appeared while he was tied to the pole, and pictures of him were circulated after he was tied and transferred to the shelter center of the National Center for Wildlife Development.
