One of the defendants in the Baring Vostok case appealed against the verdict

This was reported to TASS in the Meshchansky Court of Moscow.

“The court received a complaint from Tsakunov against the verdict,” said the interlocutor.

Earlier, the Meshchansky Court of Moscow sentenced the founder of the investment fund Baring Vostok Michael Calvey to five and a half years conditionally, who was found guilty of embezzling 2.5 billion rubles.

The rest of the persons involved in the case, including partners and heads of various areas of the fund's work, also received suspended sentences.
