It was in 2017 that Jönköping municipality left the old town hall in Huskvarna and moved a few hundred meters west to a new building.

Since then, the premises have been empty, and many house mill residents have reacted to the plastic-clad scaffolding that is set up as protection along the facade.

But now a solution seems to be underway, which Jönköpings-Posten was the first to tell.

It is the municipal housing company Vätterhem who are prepared to buy from the municipality.

The agreement has not been signed yet, but the parties agree.

The deal must also be approved by the City Council.

Will be new apartments

- There will be about 70 small apartments and businesses on the ground floor, says Raymond Paska who is CEO of Vätterhem to SVT Nyheter Jönköping.

What do you have to pay for City Hall?

- I can tell you when the agreement is signed.

You can see how the scaffolding is doing in the clip above.
