Khinshtein: three generals of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were removed from office after the arrest of the ex-head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kamchatka

This, as reported by TASS, said State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein.

“The deputy chief of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moscow, Lieutenant General Andrei Ponorets, and the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the South-Western Administrative District of Moscow, Major General of Police Yuri Demin, who back in 2017 acted as guarantors of Kiselyov when he was included in the federal personnel reserve, as well as the Deputy Head of the Department of Civil Service and Personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, have been removed from their posts. Major General Vitaly Krasnov, ”the deputy said.

On August 3, law enforcement agencies detained Mikhail Kiselev, the former head of the Russian Interior Ministry's department for the Kamchatka Territory, in connection with a criminal case of abuse of office.

It is noted that the further fate of Kiselev will be determined by the investigative and judicial authorities.

At the end of July, the Investigative Committee confirmed the initiation of a criminal case on the fact that an organized group led by the head of the UGIBDD of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Stavropol Territory, Police Colonel Alexei Safonov, received a bribe on an especially large scale.

As reported, Safonov and six members of the group headed by him were detained.
