With the testimony of a minister: Trump pressured the Ministry of Justice to cancel his defeat

A senior Democratic senator said on Sunday that former acting attorney general Jeffrey Rosen testified before a Senate committee that former US President Donald Trump exerted intense pressure on the department to reverse his electoral defeat in the final weeks of his presidency.

Dick Durbin, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, told CNN that Rosen gave "invaluable" testimony during a seven-hour closed-door session on Saturday, during which he spoke about Trump's efforts to nullify the election result.

According to Durbin, Rosen testified that Trump pressured him directly into falsely asserting that continued investigations into election fraud cast doubt on President Joe Biden's victory.

On Trump's pressure on Rosen, Durbin said: "It was real.

So reall.

And he was very specific...the ex-president is not wise when he wants something.”

Durbin, a Democrat from Illinois, praised the governor for his voluntary cooperation with the commission's ongoing investigation into Trump's actions after the election.

Rosen's testimony came a week after a House committee released Justice Department documents showing that Trump urged senior officials last year to falsely claim his electoral defeat represented "corruption."

In an interview with CNN, Durbin said the Judiciary Committee also wants testimony from former Secretary Bill Barr, who Rosen replaced during the final weeks of Trump's presidency.

Barr resigned in December, shortly after the Electoral College confirmed Trump's loss to Biden.
