The court refused to compensate her to file the lawsuit without any basis

Snappy photos on Snapchat lead a girl to court

A (Gulf) girl claimed that a (Gulf) man filed a complaint against her accusing her of sending indecent images on his phone via the “Snapchat” program, endangering his life, and asked for compensation. And it decided to uphold the judgment of the first degree and obligated it to pay expenses and attorney fees.

In detail, the girl filed a lawsuit in which she demanded to oblige a Khaleeji to pay her appropriate compensation for the material and moral damages she sustained and to oblige him to pay expenses and attorney fees on the basis that he opened a complaint against her accusing her of endangering his life, and a decision was issued by the Public Prosecution to save the complaint.

She explained that the defendant intended to destroy her family by talking to him via Snapchat and showing him an indecent image, and that she was spreading false news about his wife, which resulted in her frequenting police stations and combating cybercrime and seizing her phones until a decision was issued by the Public Prosecution By excluding the suspicion of the crime, the decision became final, which caused material and moral damages.

The man decided that he did not file a complaint against the girl, but reported a person sending him offensive and insulting messages against his wife, and mentioned the name of the plaintiff during his interrogation without verifying this, as the case was referred to the Court of First Instance, which ruled to reject the case, but the ruling was not accepted. With the girl, she filed her appeal and again demanded compensation, pointing out that the man did not mention her name from the beginning to remove suspicions from him, which represents with him the abuse of the legitimate right.

In its ruling, the Court of Appeal said that it was established in the papers that the defendant submitted a report without accusing anyone at first, but doubted the plaintiff that she was the one who spoke to him on the “Snap Shabab” program, and that his wife told him that the burns and the black pill in the hands of the one who appears In the program, she belongs to the girl, and therefore he was not charged with committing crimes from the beginning, which indicates his good intentions, and this was not proven by a court ruling, and the court did not prove that there was a case of using the illegal right.
