On the afternoon of August 9, local time, the 90-year-old former South Korean President Chun Doo-hwan appeared in the Gwangju District Court for trial. He left the court midway after only 25 minutes after complaining of breathing difficulties.

  It is reported that Quan Dou-hwan was sentenced to 8 months in the first instance in November 2020 on suspicion of defamation of the deceased, with a two-year probation.

This is the first time he appears in court after 252 days. He has refused to appear in court on the grounds of suffering from Alzheimer's many times.

  Chun Doo-hwan is 90 years old and has been re-elected as the 11th and 12th president of South Korea.
