For the first time in Saudi Arabia, two women have been appointed assistant to the President of the Two Holy Mosques

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques announced that the General President issued a decision assigning a number of agents to the General Presidency for the affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, in application of the principles of shura and supporting the presidency with scientific and practical expertise.

And the Saudi media reported, in urgent news, today, Sunday, that two women had been appointed for the first time as Assistant to the General President for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques.

The newspaper "Makkah", through its page on the social networking site Twitter, stated that "Dr. Al-Anoud Al-Aboud has been appointed as Assistant to the General President."

And the newspaper added, in another separate tweet, that "Dr. Fatima Al-Rashoud was also assigned as assistant to the general president."

The newspaper pointed out that 25 specialized agencies of various disciplines were established to provide the best services in the Two Holy Mosques.

Earlier, the General President of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, announced the coronation of 20 women who obtained master's and doctorate degrees in high leadership positions in the presidency.

And he explained, through the presidency's account on Twitter, that distinguished women will be empowered scientifically and practically in the position of assistant to the general president, agents of the general president, and assistant agents in various developmental disciplines.

Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais also issued a decision to create the position of an assistant agency for women’s empowerment;

In light of the existing efforts to empower women in the Two Holy Mosques.​

The General Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques aims to continue working to achieve the maximum benefit from distinguished female cadres, and to harness their efforts in serving visitors, pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims, in accordance with the vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030.
