"FMBA of Russia officially declares that today there is no shortage of blood and its components in blood service establishments," the department noted.

The FMBA clarified that, as of August 9, the total volume of freshly frozen plasma with antibodies to COVID-19, which is stored in Russian blood service institutions, exceeds 12 thousand liters.

Earlier, the head of the City Center for Pediatric Transfusion of the Morozov Children's City Clinical Hospital, doctor Dana Pavlova spoke about the benefits of blood donation. 

In an interview with NSN, she expressed the opinion that donating blood is like training for an athlete, since it stimulates the cardiovascular system, hematopoiesis, and immunity.

As Pavlova noted, there is no harm to the donor's health, if you do not hide the details about your health.

Also, anesthesiologist-resuscitator Natalya Chernyaeva, in an interview with Nation News, spoke about the prospects for using donated blood from those vaccinated against coronavirus and those who have been ill with COVID-19.
