In the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), after police blunders in the context of health checks linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, the time has come for convictions.

The procedure was swift and the police officer, Nkalenda Ntumba, was tried in flagrante delicto on August 9.
The Ngaliema military court imposed the death sentence on him, commuted to life.

shot
his superior, behind whom had taken refuge a man guilty of not wearing a muffler.
The drawer is summoned by the court to pay the civil parties a sum of 20,000 USD in damages.
The Kinshasa police chief, Sylvano Kasongo, had already indicated that this policeman was an irregular element.
He had left the Kasai Central province where he was assigned to settle in Kinshasa, without any order.
Similar cases had prompted Sylvano Kasongo to denounce irregular recruitments within the police.
Other burrs have been reported in the east of the country.
As recently as last weekend, in the city of Bukavu, a police officer opened fire on a colleague for poor sharing of the money collected during the operations to control the wearing of the muffler.
In Masisi territory, a 16-year-old student died at the end of July, killed by a soldier for not having paid 0.25 USD to the barrier in the village of Loashi, a barrier erected illegally some twenty meters above the ground. his school.
