Héritier Magayane, 26, married with two children, had been working for RTNC's Rutshuru station since 2018, said one of his colleagues, Roger Sebyeradu.

He received a phone call from an interlocutor who arranged to meet him and it was there that he was killed, said Luc Albert Bakole Nyengeke, military administrator of the Rutshuru territory.

Youth program host

Various armed bands are rife in the region, but the sector concerned being controlled by the Congolese army, this murder could be villainous, he supposed, while stressing to wait for the result of the investigation opened Sunday morning.

We believe that his assassination is linked to the service

 ", estimated Roger Sebyeradu, "

because after having killed him they even left with his telephone

 ".

Héritier Magayane hosted programs aimed at young people, advising them to "

 give way to peace

" in the face of chronic insecurity in the region, he testified.

North Kivu and the neighboring province of Ituri have been under a state of siege since early May, an exceptional measure decreed by Kinshasa to try to put an end to the activities of armed groups that have terrorized populations since the 1990s.
