Welcomed like a prodigal son, Hugues Fabrice Zango, the first Olympic medalist in the history of Burkina Faso, landed Sunday, August 8 in the evening in Ouagadougou.
He's back from Tokyo where he won bronze on the triple jump.

»That the Burkinabè athlete was greeted by hundreds of supporters and friends at Ouagadougou international airport.
He was greeted by officials and was allowed a walkabout.
He praised the mobilization around him.
# JO2020 Hugues Fabrice Zango arrived in Ouagadougou, his silver medal around his neck, accompanied by his trainer Teddy Tango.
He was welcomed in the salon of honor by the Minister of Sports and Recreation, the mayor of the city of Ouagadougou and several sports authorities.

Many supporters were dressed in T-shirts featuring the bronze medalist and praised his performance at the Tokyo Olympics.

Unfortunately the celebration was tarnished by the attack on two villages during the day of August 4, which prompted supporters not to organize activities on site.
But in the coming days, the organizers are planning a big party in honor of Hugues Fabrice Zango in Ouagadougou.
