The emergence of the “Suhail Star” heralds a moderate weather on August 24

Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, a member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, expected that the weather will moderate and temperatures will decrease on August 24 with the appearance of the Suhail star, whose rise the Arabs aspire to with clear heat and intense heat, the arrival of spring and the time of beneficial rain, and it is one of the brightest stars in the sky.

Al-Jarwan said that it is difficult to see the star of Sohail in the Emirates before August 17, as it is known to some as the date to see “Suhail.” It has not been proven that anyone in the UAE saw the star of Sohail before August 20, but they link the rise of Sohail to some changes in the atmosphere and natural changes in The local environment, which occurs during the second half of August, and not the actual view of the star.

He added that there is an opportunity to see the Suhail star in southern Yemen at the beginning of August, in Dhofar and Asir during the first week of August, in Oman in mid-August, and in central Arabia during the third week of August, while in the north of the Arabian Peninsula it can be seen starting from the fourth week of August. August, and in the Levant and Iraq during the first half of September.

Moderate weather and low temperatures coincide with the appearance of the Sohail star, and India's seasonal depression begins to weaken and retreat in the south, and with the rise of Sohail, the "Al Kos" winds blow, which are southeasterly winds of high humidity, working to form low clouds along the eastern slopes of the Hajar Mountains in Oman and the UAE. , It may be accompanied by drizzle, and active winds called “Habayeb Sohail” blows, softening the atmosphere, and activating “Rawaih” or “summer fragrances”, which affect the areas around the Hajar Mountains in the UAE and Oman, and affect the central mountainous areas in The Emirates from the city of Al Dhaid to the city of Al Ain, causing local storms and strong downward winds accompanied by convective clouds and heavy thunderstorms.

Coinciding with the emergence of the Sohail star, sea temperatures drop, as most fish return in large quantities to approach the coasts after the mild weather, as they move away from them during the summer, fleeing to the cold depths away from the high temperatures during the heat, and the fishermen return to the sea to fish after their reluctance. During the summer, due to the high temperatures, and the lack of fish harvest in the hot season, which leads to the recovery of fish markets in various regions of the country.

Some migratory birds also begin to flock to the area. During the second half of August, birds of income, mollusks, and quails are seen. Then, in September, you see water birds, karak al-akhal and hoopoe, and during October, the bald karak, curlew, cats, bustard and predators begin to flock.
