A book that has been overdue for 50 years has returned with a letter to a public library in Pennsylvania, USA.

Foreign media such as the AP on the 4th local time reported on a special loan book returned to the Plymouth Library in Pennsylvania.

Recently, a 20-dollar bill and a letter arrived at the Plymouth Library.

However, when I checked the loan history, the book was overdue for 50 years.

The 1967 edition of the book contained information about collecting coins, which had not been returned to the library since it was circulated in 1971.

When I looked at the letter delivered with it, it was written in the first person how the book was returned.

According to the letter, the girl borrowed the book 50 years ago and tried to return it several times, but since she moved from Plymouth, she has not been able to return the book.

The letter read, "As you can see, the girl took very good care of me. After a few moves, it was packed and moved along with the other books", "It was like a joke that we couldn't return this book to our family. There was also an anecdote saying, "Did you bring the Plymouth book?"

"The enclosed $20 won't even come close to the late fee, but I wonder if I'll be able to pay the other children's unpaid late fees instead." In fact, the Plymouth Libraries have rules that suspend borrowing if you exceed $5 in arrears.

Librarian Librarian Laura Keller said, "As written in the letter, ($20) was used to pay a late fee for a young mother who wants to borrow the book again." He also reported the story to the local media and said that he was looking for the whereabouts of the borrower.

This is a 'news pick'.
