The Military Emergency Unit (UME) has joined the level 2 fire in El Tiemblo (Ávila) on Friday night that has caused the cutting of a road and there is a

risk for some homes,

according to sources from the Board and the Government Delegation.

Specifically, the Ministry of Defense has given the go-ahead to the mobilization of the UME to stop the fire, this is how section 1 of the Emergency Intervention Battalion (BIEM) is mobilized, composed of

40 troops and 6 fire trucks,

due to its proximity to the site of the fire, although the operation is directed by BIEM V based in León.

According to the Government Delegation, the fire is currently

"very virulent"

with "a very explosive behavior" and a "large perimeter".

The work area, close to the El Burguillo reservoir, is "very complex" due to its orography and danger, in addition to its steep slope and difficult access.

In addition, within the environment of the fire there are different villages and agricultural buildings.

The fuel consists mainly of junipers, grass and short, that is,

highly flammable and resinous materials.

The forest fire started at 6:12 p.m. in the municipality of El Tiemblo, in the province of Ávila.

At 7:04 p.m., the Board declared dangerousness level 2 because the emergency could pose a

serious risk to the population

and property other than those of a forest nature.

The flames near the houses of the municipality and the cut of the national highway N-403 between kilometers 95 and 96 have motivated the declaration of level.
