One of the leading developers of nuclear weapons in the USSR, Yuri Trutnev, dies

"The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin expressed his condolences in connection with the death of the legendary physicist Yuri Trutnev," the press service of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region quotes TASS.

It is noted that Trutnev died in Sarov.

According to Nikitin, the name of the scientist will be immortalized in the region.

Yuri Trutnev was one of the main participants in the development of the RDS-37 thermonuclear charge, which became the prototype of many Soviet nuclear charges.

In July, the famous physiologist, doctor of sciences and great-grandson of the poet Fyodor Tyutchev, Ivan Pigarev, died in Moscow, he was 80 years old.
