Alassane Ouattara made a new gesture of appeasement in the reconciliation process of Ivorians, announcing having granted "

 pardon

 " to nine detainees arrested during the electoral disturbances and violence of October 2020 and the "

 provisional release of 69 accused

 ".

The head of state is trying to respond to his opponents, former presidents Laurent Gbagbo and Henri Konan Bédié.

On the political level, Côte d'Ivoire has succeeded, according to Alassane Ouattara, to go to the end of its electoral cycle, by organizing a presidential and legislative elections.

The Head of State points out that for the first time in many years, all parties are represented in Parliament.

Desire for reconciliation

He regretted the murderous violence and paid tribute to the victims.

He responds positively to the opposition's requests - dialogue, reconciliation, release of prisoners - but he emphasizes that he has always taken the initiative in this area.

President Ouattara welcomes the Bédié-Gbagbo meeting and the

with former President Laurent Gbagbo on July 27.

Nothing should hinder the smooth running of Côte d'Ivoire, but everything must be done in accordance with the laws and institutions, specifies the captain of the Ivorian boat.

As expected Alassane Ouattara announced the provisional release of 69 people and the pardon of 9 other detainees arrested during the political violence during the last presidential election.

President Ouattara also announced 3,000 other pardons for detainees who had a year or less to serve.

As a reminder, former President Gbagbo had given a list of 110 names of detainees he wanted to see released.
