Residents of Potosi, in southwestern Bolivia, had to cancel football matches on Tuesday due to the heavy snowfall.
The temperature dropped and created perfect snow conditions and some then took the opportunity to have snowball fights on the streets, reports Reuters.
In Arequipa, Peru, however, the mood along the country roads was not as cheerful.
Many cars and trucks came to a standstill when the road conditions were changed.
- The weather is very hard and we are getting nowhere.
We are stuck, a driver outside Arequipa told Reuters.
