According to figures published by Public Health France, the number of hospitalizations in critical care due to Covid-19 were up on Friday, with 1,458 patients against 1,420 on Thursday.

This indicator had fallen below the threshold of 1,000 on July 7, before starting to rise.

The number of hospitalizations in critical care due to Covid continues to increase with 1,458 patients on Friday, a week after the threshold of 1,000 patients was crossed in these services which treat the most serious cases, according to figures published by Public Health France.

With 165 new admissions in 24 hours, critical care welcomed 1,458 patients on Friday against 1,420 on Thursday.

This indicator had fallen below the threshold of 1,000 on July 7, before starting to rise.

The number of deaths slightly up

The number of hospitalizations is also on the rise: 8,368 patients on Friday (including 862 new admissions in 24 hours) against 8,210 the day before.

The number of daily deaths linked to Covid-19 in hospitals is also on the rise with 60 in the last 24 hours, against 52 the day before, bringing to 112,190 deaths since the start of the epidemic.

The health authorities report 25,077 new cases of Covid detected in 24 hours against 26,460 the day before.

The positivity rate is 4.2%.

On the vaccination side, 44,413,560 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 65.9% of the total population) since the start of the campaign and 36,919,028 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 54.6% of the population total).
