According to a study published on Friday by the Directorate of Research, Studies, Evaluation and Statistics, 87% of people admitted to critical care and 83% of those admitted to conventional hospitalization were unvaccinated between July 19 and July 25. .

The test positivity rate of the unvaccinated is three times higher than that of the vaccinated.

"At the end of July, the entry into critical care is 12 times less within the fully vaccinated population than among unvaccinated people" against Covid-19, according to a study published on Friday by the Directorate of Research, Studies, evaluation and statistics (Drees).

Between July 19 and 25, 87% of people admitted to critical care and 83% of those admitted to conventional hospitalization were unvaccinated, details the Drees.

Patients who have completed their vaccination course represent 6% of critical care admissions

According to a previous study by the same organization, between May 31 and July 11, unvaccinated people accounted for 85% of critical care hospitalizations and 84% of so-called conventional hospital admissions.

Between July 19 and 25, patients who completed their vaccination course also represent 6% of critical care admissions and 11% of conventional hospitalizations.

The statistical service of social ministries has also estimated that in the "ratio" of deaths, 82% of people were not vaccinated, 14% were completely. The Drees also added that "the rate of positivity of the tests (between July 19 and July 25, editor's note) of the unvaccinated is three times higher than that of the fully vaccinated". Indeed, the rate of positive PCR tests among unvaccinated people is 258 per 100,000 inhabitants. "Among fully vaccinated people, it is 7 times lower and stands at 35 positive tests per 100,000 vaccinated inhabitants," she said.

However, she believes that the lower positivity rate of tests of vaccinated people can also be explained by "the lack of need to do a test for these people in the event of activity requiring a health pass".
