Two coaches for the Belarus squad, Artur Shimak and Yury Maisevich, were asked to leave the Olympic Village immediately, which they did on Friday, according to the IOC.

The measure is taken for "the well-being of the Belarusian athletes who remain in Tokyo", writes the IOC.

Kristina Timanovskaya had to flee from her own squad after she was taken away to be forced home from Tokyo.

She is now in Poland, where she has been granted a humanitarian visa.

A disciplinary commission has been set up by the IOC to clarify what happened and what role the two men played in Timanovskaya's abduction.
