"

There will not be a July 25 within Ennahdha

" assured a party official Wednesday evening in reference to a possible radical change within the party as was the coup de force of Kaïs Saïed on Sunday July 25 . The decision-making body, the Shura, has met for the first time since the presidential decision to suspend the activities of parliament and to sack the head of government.

The party which had almost unanimously denounced a "

coup

" last week, seems less united after ten days without Parliament and without government. Imed Hammami, a former party spokesman and who has held various ministerial portfolios, makes his first television appearance, declaring that the "

description of events by Ennahdha was not correct

" from the first hours following the decisions of the party. Kaïs Saïed, in his words. He insisted in his interview on the need for reforms in the party, whose leadership, by Rached Ghannouchi, is often criticized. It is however still defended by some apparatchiks of the party who, faced with the current crisis, do not want a vacancy of power.

Four days before the Shura meeting, 130 Ennahdha youths also signed an open letter with MPs calling for the dissolution of the party's executive board.
