During the month of July this year, four people were killed and thirteen injured in connection with shootings in Sweden.

In Biskopsgården, a policeman was shot to death and in Flemingsberg, two children were injured when they were shot near their home.

On Monday, a shooting occurred in connection with a shopping center in the district Gamlegården in Kristianstad, in the middle of the day in a public place.

- There have always been this type of shootings in the open street and during the day, but it has probably become a little more common, even though there have been incidents even 10-20 years ago that have looked similar, says criminologist Manne Gerell.

Two men in their 20s and 30s and a woman in their 60s were injured in connection with the incident.

The motive for the shooting or the relationship between the injured and the suspects has not yet been commented on by the police.

But that outsiders are affected by this type of violence is a trend that has become more common, according to Manne Gerell.

- There are some.

We have seen a trend that it has become more common for outsiders to be affected by this type of violence.

In the autumn, my colleague Joakim Sturup conducted a review in which he showed that at least 46 people who were outsiders had been injured or killed in explosions or shootings between 2011 and 2020.

Three teenagers are in custody, suspected of attempted murder after Monday's shooting.
