It was during Wednesday afternoon that the alarm about the fire came to the rescue service.
The extinguishing work has been going on all evening, night and during Thursday.
- As soon as the rescue service has completed the firefighting work and we have the opportunity to come in and take over, we will do a follow-up work, says Åsa Ahlgren Berndtson, communications manager at Stena Recycling.
Fire earlier this year
As recently as March this year, there was a fire at Stena Recycling in Gävle, when recycled paper was on fire.
- These two fires have nothing to do with each other.
That it now happens twice in the course of six months is sad and something we absolutely do not want to happen, says Åsa Ahlgren Berndtson.
