Important changes concern portfolios related to security.
If the Minister of Police, a strong ally of Cyril Ramaphosa, remains in his post, the Minister of Defense is paying the price for the riots.
She is replaced by the current President of Parliament.
The ministry dedicated to National Security, which has been strongly criticized for its lack of action during the looting, is now directly attached to the presidency, for more control.

An investigation into the dysfunctions
In addition, a panel of experts will be responsible for investigating the dysfunctions of the security services during this recent wave of violence.
Another very noticed change is that of the Minister of Health, Zweli Mkhize this time in connection with the pandemic.
Leader in the fight against the spread of the virus, he was forced to resign following a corruption scandal.
Finally the Minister of Finance, Tito Mboweni, a fervent defender of budgetary discipline, wished to leave his post.
