The head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, said that he hopes that the Saudi authorities will set a date to pronounce the verdict against Palestinian detainees in the kingdom, and that the (judicial) sessions will culminate in the release of all detainees.

Haniyeh added - in a statement today, Wednesday - "We look forward to a judicial decision and a royal will to close and end this file, based on the historical positions of the Kingdom and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in support of the Palestinian people."

It is noteworthy that the verdict sessions against Palestinian and Jordanian detainees in Saudi Arabia were set next week, to be in installments between next Sunday and Thursday, after they were previously scheduled for next October.

Two months ago, a session was held in Saudi Arabia to try Palestinian detainees, including the former representative of Hamas in the kingdom, Muhammad al-Khudari.

Hamas announced - in previous statements - that Saudi Arabia has detained about 60 Palestinians of its members and supporters, including Muhammad al-Khudari and his son Hani, since April 2019, without further details.
