Six pilots participate in the Swedish junior championship in gliding which is arranged at an airfield in Arboga.

The pilots are 18-24 years old.

In gliding, you are a junior until you turn 25 years old.

Elias Severholt, 18, is the youngest participant.

It was a flying camp and later a test lesson in gliding that made him start flying.

- Then I was completely stuck, says Elias Severholt.

Three landed outside

The championship takes place 1-7 August.

Every day, the goal is to get up in the air and collect points, by flying around a predetermined orbit in the fastest time.

The one who has the most points at the end of the week wins.

- We compete as fast as the weather allows, and so far we have had very good conditions, says competition leader Lars Jauring.

It happens, however, that the gliders do not return and land at the airfield they are supposed to.

- On Sunday, three of the six came around the track.

Three landed out, which is part of this sport, says Lars Jauring.

This is something that Elias Severholt also has experience with.

In the clip, he tells what to do when you realize that you will not "get home" with the plane.
