The samples were taken on August 2 and the answer that came on Thursday shows too high bacterial levels of e-coli and enterococci in the water at Vikingstrand and Hittarp.

- It is always difficult to say what an individual bad test result is due to, but after a long and sunny summer, it has recently rained a lot and then the risk of bacteria ending up in the bathing water increases, says Tomas Terje, area manager at the city building administration in a press release.

The city of Helsingborg now advises against swimming at those places until the tests show that the water is good again.

Results on new samples are expected in a few days.
