In reaction to the decision of the Constitutional Council which largely validated the extension of the health pass and the vaccination obligation for caregivers, several hundred demonstrators gathered Thursday at the end of the day in front of the Palais-Royal, where the Sages sit.

Several hundred demonstrators were massed Thursday in the early evening in front of the Council of State in Paris, in reaction to the decision of the Constitutional Council to validate the extension of the health pass in cafes-restaurants and certain shopping centers, and compulsory vaccination for caregivers. They chanted in front of the CRS the slogans "liberty, liberty", or "Macron, your pass we do not want".

Among them are many yellow vests, such Jérôme Rodrigues, figure of the movement, stunned by a grenade fire during a demonstration in 2019. Marie José Libeiro, 48, refusing to say what job she has in Paris, said: "For me, all this undermines fundamental freedoms and the freedom to come and go. Freedom is first and foremost the choice to be vaccinated or not. We are in the process of falling into an authoritarian state" .

Before the Constitutional Council

The number of demonstrators grew when a procession joined, first in front of the Constitutional Council, at the Palais-Royal in Paris, the hundred demonstrators who had waited all day for the decision of the Wise Men.

They greeted with hoots the validation of most of the law on the health pass.

Emblematic and controversial measure of the bill aimed at countering the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, the health pass (total vaccination, negative Covid-19 test or certificate of recovery) will be extended, a priori from Monday, to cafes , restaurants, planes, trains, coaches for long journeys, fairs, seminars and trade shows.
