"

Yes, it will probably take a third dose, not for everyone right away but in any case for the oldest and most fragile (...), at this stage, but we learn at each step

", a- he explained in a new video taken as a selfie from Fort Brégançon (south), the summer residence of French heads of state.

He had already announced on July 12 the principle of a re-entry campaign for the most vulnerable, as other countries are doing, such as Israel on July 30.

At the beginning of August, Germany announced that it would offer, as of September 1, the administration of a booster dose of Covid-19 vaccine to elderly and vulnerable populations, as well as to people who have not received of messenger RNA vaccine.

In response, the WHO on Wednesday called for a moratorium on this third dose until the end of September to allow a better distribution of vaccines.

Appeal rejected by the United States, which said it "did not need" to choose between administering a third dose to its citizens or donating it to poor countries.

In France, the exact perimeter of people who will be offered a vaccine booster at the start of the school year should be the subject of arbitration "

next week

", the Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday.

Currently, the third dose is only recommended for people who are immunosuppressed, such as those who have received a transplant.

Since Monday, the Head of State has been posting on social networks, including Instagram and TikTok, widely watched by young people, educational explanations on the vaccine, while a

mandatory health pass

should be implemented in a few days

extended to new public places, including cafes and restaurants.

Subject to the validation of the law by the Constitutional Council, whose verdict is expected during the day.
