The starting shot for the rural parties took place on July 22 in Skälby.

Today the second party is held on Norrlidstorget, while the last two take place next week.

August 12 in Bjursnäs and August 13 in Rockneby.

- We believe that there is a need and an interest in something happening.

So we scaled it all down and have made it a little smaller.

We have tried to cover different parts of the municipality from north to south, says Harald Erici, event coordinator at Kalmar municipality.

Clowns and jazz

In Norrliden, clown shows, jazz music, story time and triathlon are promised on Thursday.

Visitors also have the chance to try mountain biking and circus arts.

All the activities of the rural parties are free, but some may require pre-booked tickets in order to be able to check the number of visitors.

Norrliden's party does not require tickets, but there is a maximum ceiling of 150 people.
