These are soldiers returning from a patrol who were surprised by attackers, obviously well informed in the middle of the night in Tchoukoutalia in the province of Lake Chad.

At the beginning, there was panic and even stampede, report military sources who speak of twenty soldiers killed.

Search operations were launched and at the same time a counter-offensive announced the general staff of the armies.

The branch of the Islamic State in the Sahara and the Sahel led by Abu Moussa el-Barnaoui has not carried out a major offensive since

the attack on Bohoma

in March 2020 which caused the death of more than a hundred Chadian soldiers .
