This was stated by Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN.

He answered the question whether the situation with the tanker could be discussed in the UN Security Council.

“We are still studying the details.

There is a lot of conflicting information, highly likely analysis that we completely reject.

We need to see the facts, and not rush to draw conclusions and take any action, ”TASS quotes him.

Earlier it became known that the tanker Mercer Street belonging to the Japanese company under the flag of Liberia was attacked in the Arabian Sea.

Also on 3 August, the United Kingdom's Maritime Trade Organization announced the hijacking of the Asphalt Princess tanker. The organization later stated that "the invaders left the ship."
