On July 3, local time, a large-scale debris flow occurred in Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.

A total of about 56,000 cubic meters of landfill collapsed, along the Fengchuchuan River to reach Izushan Port about 2 kilometers downstream.

  On August 2, local time, the affected residents held a press conference in the city and expressed that they would consider making claims against the county, city, and landowners.

One month has passed since the disaster, and 22 people were killed and 5 people are still missing.
