A second young man was indicted and then imprisoned Tuesday, in the case of the fireworks mortar fire in Bonneuil-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne) which occurred on July 25.

Also 16 years old, the minor is suspected of being at the origin of the shooting which burned one of the police officers at the time of the facts.

Known to the police for another firework mortar fire, the teenager is being prosecuted for "attempted murder of a person holding public authority in an organized band".

He was placed under a provisional deposit warrant pending a deferred debate before a judge of freedoms and detention scheduled for Friday, said the prosecution.

On July 25, in Bonneuil-sur-Marne, three police officers on patrol from the Créteil anti-crime squad were the target of young people who targeted them with fireworks.

Search for "active" participants

The investigation opened for "attempted murder of a person holding public authority, complicity in this attempt, aggravated violence, death threats and recording and dissemination of violent images" was entrusted to the departmental security.

Five minors aged 14 to 16 were taken into police custody and then released last week.

Investigations are continuing to identify other "active" participants out of a total of "forty young people" gathered at the time of the facts, the Créteil prosecutor's office told AFP.

One of the police officers, 37 years old and a member of the BAC of Créteil, was burned to the second degree in the lower back, without his vital prognosis being engaged.

He was given 15 days of ITT (total incapacity for work).

His two colleagues also suffered injuries to their eardrums and were recognized for 15 and 10 days of ITT, and "had hearing loss".
