On stage are the three actors Jo Rideout, Ulf Evrén and Ida Jensen, who together play eleven different roles.

The storm premieres on August 5 and is played first in the ruins of the Roman monastery and then also in Salthamn, a mile north of Visby.

But from the beginning it was thought that it would be performed on a traveling theater carriage.

- We have felt that we want a leg more aimed at children and young people.

When the corona hit and we could not do our big production, we thought it could be a great opportunity to realize a concept we have been thinking about for many years: the theater carriage, says director Eva Carlberg.

Want to make Shakespeare more accessible

The idea was that the theater would tour around the island to reach people who might not normally apply to it.

But the pandemic has temporarily put a stop to the idea as it has been difficult to get hold of all the parts.

- The theater trolley will arrive in the autumn.

Next summer we will continue with Stormen on this wagon and then other pieces, says Eva Carlberg.

She adds that the carriage may eventually appear on the mainland as well.

Rehearsal with test audience

SVT participated in a rehearsal in front of a group of leisure children from Roma.

In the video above, you can hear what they thought of Stormen and one of the actors about what it is like to have many children in the audience.
