He said that a Pentagon police officer was attacked at a bus station, there was a shootout, as a result of which "there were several casualties."
"The incident is over, the scene is safe, there is no continuing threat," TASS quoted him as saying.
However, he refused to confirm the information that a police officer had died as a result of the incident, saying that he could not "endanger the ongoing investigation."
According to him, it is "premature" to consider the incident as a terrorist attack, since the motives of the attacker are unknown.
Earlier it was reported that the man who organized the shooting at the Pentagon building in Washington was neutralized by a ministry security officer.
