During the month of July this year, there were 34 confirmed shootings in the country.
Among the most notable are a police murder in Biskopsgården, a fatal shooting at a hairdressing salon in Högsbo, and a case where two children were injured when they were shot near their home in Flemingsberg.
According to new statistics presented by the police on Tuesday, four people were killed and 13 injured in July as a result of shootings.
It can be compared with July 2020, when three people died and 10 were injured in a total of 33 shootings.
No major change over time
If you look at the statistics for the whole of 2021, you can see a small decrease in the number of shootings and the number of injured, if you compare with the same period in 2020.
On the other hand, there is no decrease in the number of deaths. Both last year and this year, 25 people had been shot dead during the first seven months of the year.
