The city police were gathered Monday at the Martyrs stadium in Kinshasa for a "general parade", but it was especially the opportunity for their leader to lecture them after several blunders: the murder of a university student by a police officer on the run from the violence committed during checks on anti-Covid-19 measures.

As recently as last Wednesday, a police officer "inadvertently" shot his supervisor during a mask check.

In response to a cry from the honorary commander, they look serene, form the rank, in uniform.

Thousands of police are waiting for their leader on Monday, August 2 at the Martyrs stadium in Kinshasa.

11:30 am. Review of the troops, national anthem ... The rally begins with a minute of silence in particular in memory of the student

Honoré Shama, victim of two bullets

by a police officer on July 24. There follows an update from the head of the Kinshasa police, Sylvano Kasongo. "

Our boss is the population, what happened is a shame, the President of the Republic is disappointed because of your nonsense

," he said.

The story of this student whose life was cut short by a rogue policeman, an uncivil.

Who told you that a student needs permission to shoot a play?

Do you know that a person's life is sacred?

It is unacceptable.

You use firearms improperly.

They can only be used against armed bandits, not civilians, not for wearing masks.

This rogue policeman killed the hope of a family

.

"

Then the police chief wants to be reassuring.

“

This policeman will be arrested.

His two colleagues were arrested.

They will be condemned to death.

You cannot accept to take a person's life for nothing.

Whatever his hiding place, he will be arrested

 ”.

In all respects, a key word: "

Be firm, but courteous

".

Sylvano Kasongo also attributes these blunders to the existence in the ranks of illegally recruited police officers, a practice he intends to ban thanks to the denunciations.
