The worst affected is the provincial capital Zhengzhou, where 292 people died, 14 of whom died in the flooding of the subway system.

Zhengzhou, located near the Yellow River, was hit by heavy rainfall for three days, which not only claimed lives but also destroyed homes, industries and infrastructure in the city.

50 people are still missing in Henan province, local authorities announced at a press conference on Monday.
