It is reported by the news portal Delfi.

“The discontent of the migrants, which turned into riots, was caused by the living conditions in the tent camp, set up on the territory of the landfill,” said Lina Laurinaite-Grigene, adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania.

According to a riot participant, people are unhappy with food and "strange colored water."

He noted that one of the migrants on Sunday, August 1, was poisoned and waited for medical help for six hours.

“I left my country for a better life.

But in my homeland it was much better than here, ”the source said.

Last week, in Lithuania, 380 illegal migrants were accommodated in a tent camp located at the Rudninkai training ground.

Prime Minister Ingrida Shimonyte said earlier that the authorities are considering the possibility of contacting EU member states with a request to accommodate some of the illegal migrants who arrive in the country from Belarus.
