This is reported by LRT with reference to the Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Simonyte.

According to the politician, the government intends to ask for help if the situation gets out of control.

“We are discussing the issue of the distribution of migrants among the member countries of the community, but I cannot yet say when Lithuania will make such a request,” Simonyte said.

On Monday, August 2, 287 illegal migrants were detained by states per day - this is a record figure since the beginning of the year.

Since the beginning of the year, more than 3.8 thousand migrants have tried to get into Lithuania illegally, which is ten times more than last year.

Last week, 380 illegal migrants were accommodated in a tent camp located at the Lithuanian Rudninkai training ground.
